Aldea Gallery will have an opening reception on Friday, June 3, from 5 to
7 p.m. with a special focus on the work of well-known Silver City artist
Susan Porter. Porter not only creates dynamic pastel paintings but also
wonderful, whimsical ceramics and colorful glass-fused jewelry. In
addition to numerous powerful paintings that will be displayed, Foster
also has many new ceramic pieces that will be included in the show. There
will be a special focus on her painting titled "Living Large," a work of
art that reinforces the image of woman as a goddess-like being. Several
ceramic images of similar women that are part of the “Living Large” series will
also be featured in the show.
