Mosaics with Michele Parlee
Wednesday, March 8th, 12pm-3pm and Thursday, March 9th, 11am-1pm

This two-day mosaic workshop is for students of all levels.  Using both glass and handmade ceramic tiles students will learn about design, placement and color as well as adhesive and grout.  You will have the option of choosing a simple heart or a heart with flames, all hand cut from 3/4” plywood.  On day one you will design and glue ceramic focal points and then, using colored glass, fill in the rest of your heart.  Your hearts will then sit overnight to dry.  On day two…we grout.  I will show you how to apply grout to your piece.   Then we paint the back and attach hangers.   Day two will be short…about half an hour.  All materials and tools included.   If you have any special pieces you would like to use in your heart please bring them and we will discuss whether or not they are suitable for mosaic.  And if you have your own tools, please feel free to bring those.
