Beginning Crochet. Saturdays, January 21 & 28, February 4 - 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Come learn basic crochet skills as a foundation for more advanced workshops we'll offer in the future. Get familiar with the tools, techniques, and five basic stitches you need to make beautiful hats, scarves, blankets, and more, as well as how to read patterns. The registration fee does not cover tools or materials - we'll provide you a list of what you need to complete the workshop (easy to get at the local yarn store, among other options).

Class: Rocks, Clouds and Trees with Paul Hotvedt. Starts January 25, Wednesdays: 1-4 pm. Eight weeks.
Come explore ways in which these timeless subjects can be represented in painting and drawing. We will look at both contemporary Western approaches as well as traditional Chinese models. All experience levels and all media are welcome. And did we mention water?

Kid's Class (Ages 8 to 14): Finger Knitting. Saturday, January 28 - 10 a.m. to Noon
Finger knitting is a simple method of creating knitted tubes that can be used for anything from necklaces to jump ropes to scarves and rugs. All tools and supplies will be provided for use in class.

01/31/2017: Convergence - of Borders and Minds.
FeVa Fotos photographers Sandy Feutz and Tom Vaughan will have an opening reception from 2 p.m. till 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, at the Mimbres Region Arts Council Gallery that is located in the Silver City Wells Fargo Bank Building. The new exhibit  of original photography is titled “Convergence - of Borders and Minds” and based on the Border Convergence event that they photographed this October in the bordertown of  Nogales, Arizona. The public is cordially invited to stop in at the reception for refreshments and  conversation. The exhibit will be available for viewing during MRAC office hours, from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m, Tuesday through Friday, throughout the month of February.

2016 Season - RED DOT Artfest & Studio Tour
RED DOT Galleries, Studios & Artists will be hosting their annual RED DOT Event for 10 art filled days in October. A Friday night kick-off event is planned for Oct. 7, 2016. Throughout the following 10 days until Oct. 16 there will be a full schedule of events including art shows, studio tours, workshops, demonstrations, lectures etc. A brochure listing detailed information will be available late summer of 2016. Studio & Gallery Tours

Silver City Art Association can provide Studio & Gallery Tours for small groups (up to 12). The tours are free of charge and we can assist you with meals and hotel accommodations if necessary.
